Right. I give up already. Yes, he is a Scotsman. Is it that obvious? There is such a thing as a distinctive ‘Scottish’ face. Interesting because Scotland’s genetic history is hardly homogeneous in a NW-European context, representing a fusion of Britons and Picts, as well as Gaels and Anglo-Saxons to a lesser extent. Modern Scotland is far more ‘Gaelic’ than it was historically, ofc, owing to the seismic amount of Irish immigrants who have moved there since the mid-20th Century. There was also a huge amount of migration from the Gaelic Highlands into the lowlands (possessing a population that was mainly genetically Brythonic). But from an historic perspective, that ‘Gaelic’ component only concerned those, genetically in the west. Whilst the inhabitants of the east were completely assimilated into the Gaelic culture, there is no evidence it was the result of migration, rather it was assimilation pushed by the elites of the day. Anyway, I think this guy passes as English better than Irish.
