I mean it's certainly a possibility but tbh Okinawans themselves are the darkest Japanese so this skin tone can and does show up naturally at times, among them.

I don't know but Asian guys who were born and raised in the west look so much better than the ones in their home countries. I like how some of them assimilate to American black culture by adopting their "swag" attitude. Very common here in NYC.

Okinawa is the southernmost part of Japan and not even connected to the mainland. It's halfway between Taiwan and Japan.

Okinawans/Ryukyu Islanders having more Jomon could also be a factor.
