View Full Version : Sora Gedmatch results
Hi after a long time!
I've finally taken this test and received my results on May.
Here is my full ancestry;
Maternal grandma= ¾ Meskhetian Turk + ¼ local Tokat Turk
Maternal grandpa= 100% Turk from center subprovince. His village is rumored to be sedentary Afshar Yörüks migrated from Aydin region at 17th century. All of my grandpa's grandparents are from the same village. His village's name is "Büyükyıldız"
Paternal grandma= ¾ Turk(from Çamdere & Boyalı villages) + ¼ Kurd(from Binecek village). However neither my grandma & father verifies Kurdish roots while all sources claim it's Kurdish village.
Paternal grandpa= 100% Chepni Turk from Almus sub province of Tokat who've migrated from Kürtün sub province of Gümüşhane during Russo-Turkish war. They're Sunnified Alevis but my father also denies it again

Welcome back, nice to see you agane. (:
Congratulations, cool results. Your east asian %7 seems OK. Med is also fine. I would be also interested in your mtdna.

Thank you so much :o
I think my real mtdna is either H or U. Because Central Turks usually don't have Mongoloid mtdnas
Judging by European percentages on MyHeritage, high Atlantic_Med on Gedmatch & history; I likely have Genoese ancestry. Because Genoese used to have colonies in Aegean & Black Sea coasts during Medieval era. My maternal grandpa really looks like them tho
Hi, I'm glad you have taken the test, congrats on that! :thumb001:

I know this stuff is pretty fucking old at this point but your Baltic is very low which clearly indicates you don't have any Slavic or Eastern European ancestry. On the other hand, your Mediterranean is very high. 7 percent Mongoloid is okay for Turkey, it's neither the lowest nor the highest, right in the middle of the spectrum, I'd say.

Thank you so much, my idol :o
I suspect of having some Genoese ancestry, judging by high Atlantic_Med for where I am from. Since Genoese used to colonize Aegean & Black Sea coasts during late medieval era. Especially my maternal grandpa looks very Germanic/Italian(North) influenced despite his Afshar roots. It's indeed not surprising to have 7% Mongoloid for me, because my maternal grandma is Mesketian Turk(they have little-to-none Mongoloid), it reduced my Mongoloid obviously. Anyways, I'm still glad with what I am :)

Haha, lol, you're welcome :D
Yeah, that's not impossible if it's a fact that they did have a presence on the Black Sea coast. The Genoese used to live in Southern Crimea as well. And yes, significant Meskhetian and more distant Kurdish ancestry would indeed reduce the Mongoloid, otherwise you'd probably be closer to 10% or so.

Atlantic Med epey yüksek çıkmış, onun haricinde sonuçların aile geçmişinle uyuyor gibi gözüküyor.
Nice and interesting results!
