Makes me wonder how my mother scores as much of it as we do- her Eastern European ancestry are ethnically Polish Belarusians, an area with no Finno-Ugric activity. I can't go far back Many generations down that side though, maybe there's an ethnic Russian in the woodpile. I have noticed that she gets multiple matches from NW Russia. Several people on this thread score a little "Finn", which I would guess in most instances is not legitimate, but maybe just speaking to excess HG or something.Uralic on the other hand is more selective, so could be speaking to something actually Siberian.

It may simply relate to something you/she has somewhere east of Europe but the calculator samples aren't enough to show it.

If you add in some other known groups outside of Europe but to the east, do you still show Uralic?

You could try the Russia8 calc to see what % of Uralic you and your Mom get.

Apart from the Rumelian Turks, nobody calls themselves Rumelians anymore - and East Rumelia existed only in the 19th century, so the Rumelia_East population is either not named correctly, being southern Bulgarians, or is something else
