[Demirkazık]

Çıtak is a village in the Karakoçan District of Elazığ Province in Turkey.[1][2] Its population is 51 (2021).[3] The village is populated by Kurds.[4]

The name Chitak comes from the Bulgarian and Macedonian word Читаци. Chitak people are a blend of Turks, Vlachs, and Bulgarians, residing in the Balkans, including North Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Romania. Additionally, there is a Çıtak* population in Turkey, primarily in my hometown, specifically in Bolu Kıbrıscık and Seben, and Ankara Kızılcahamam, among other regions.

Though they are more Turkic and less Balkanic than the sample presented here. I can definitely say that the reason Europeans get this sample is that it is predominantly European in origin, not because of Anatolian farmer ancestry. I also want to add that the sample has nothing Kurdish about it.
