This is a little calculator that will help determine if you are "White", or Caucasoid enough at least. He passed with flying colors, being half Sicilian and French/Polish. Im expecting all Europeans to pass but let's see about you.


You only have to post your distances, not the admix (spoiler it wont work anyway). This is for scaled and preferably use non sim coords.


Threshold for now is getting for all 4 a greater distance than:

I think a bit closer to Australians but more distant to Papuans. I tried to make it as distant as possible, and easy for the east Asian. Using Korean + Japanese instead of Siberian where the intra Euro variability is too high to find a reasonable threshold. Interestingly there is still a good amount of variation on that it seems.

Than anyone else among those 4 references, because there are many non-european peoples that are quite close, as you can see with that Afghan reference.

Most Europeans will be a little bit closer to Amerindians than East Asians, for some people it's very close which is actually surprising because Amerindians are supposed to have ancient West Eurasian through their huge ANE, and not East Asians.

It's clear the lower distances to, everything, but in particular to Amerindian came with the IE in the Bronze Age. That is justifiable by the ANE both Amerindians and eastern HG shared.

Probably 56 for Amerindian is the right value but East Asian and Papuan i don't find it acceptable to lower it much further when everybody and their grandmum was way more distant to them just before they arrived. Nobody said people in Europe got their ANE directly from a family near the lake Baikai 24 000 years ago, it's just to expediate a term for one type of ancestry. It's the same with our "Villabruna", we only got a bit of it from actual mesolithic Europe, just an extra in the middle/late neolithic cultures, but most of that type of ancestry came from the farmers and pastoralists in the end.

What is your result for comparison? As seen in the thread it's common to get in the 74 for Iberians if they are a little bit more NA/SSA than average (the average passes).

But if we put this in base 100 so it can be converted into a percentage, a 0 (yourself) to 100 distance (that would be ancient Bichon), then this is like getting 74.6%, a mere 0.4% short of passing on one component.

Furthermore i should also reiterate, the 4 distances are connected. For the same distance of African, it's easier to clear it if you have a lower distance to East Asian, Amerindian or even Papuan since they are all the most distinct on earth. For example someone who would be 1/4 black would have a lower distance to African quite naturally, but would get a higher distance to African if he was ALSO 1/4 Chinese than being none of these. For the same distance to African you can be more "African like" if your score lower on the other 3. This is why failing at 1 isn't the same as failing at 2, 3 or 4.


Admixture runs have a defined threshold, that isn't defined by the user but arbitrarly by the samples, the intent of the calculator etc... If that threshold happens to be high, you might not see what is your real inclination. This is typically what we see in many calculators assessing "Caucasian or West Eurasian", there are probably a dozen already on the forum, where everybody scores 100% (or close) because the threshold is low.

This is way more accurate, as again yourself is the 0 and everything else is 0 to 100 with no accuracy of fit or distance. There is no threshold but the one you may decide to set, just values but it's the same principle than other calculators, if only ran in reverse to get the pure raw values.

Yes but the average for Portugal passes the 75, i think in Europe only Sicily is short of something like 0.4%. These groups generally have documented and relatively recent North African or African maybe from slave trades, some more than others but it reflects in distances instantly. I doubt any Africans ended up somewhere around the place of your ancestors, so that's a different thing but the basal east Eurasian used to be closer to African.

It is probably something Ganj Dareh related and basal East Asian/East Eurasian related for sure.

Real Megrel/Svan. By the way, I have been to Upper Svaneti before. Beautiful region. Hiked the Mestia-Ushguli trail during the tail end of summer.

Even visited Kvirikoba. Did the Svanetian bell tolling. Svans are crazy strong, impressive for their stature.
