I don't know the name of the movie, nor the characters.
All I know is that it's set in 19th century France.
There is a guy who gets constantly arrested for being a "Bonapartist" (supporting Napoleon), and he constantly escapes too.
Then, one he gets caught again, and is executed.
His wife then dies that day because of her sadness, leaving her only son an orphan. The son is found by monks or priests, and is raised.
Later on, he grows up and starts some sort of revolution.
I saw that movie more than 4 years ago.
