This generally requires investigation as to whether this is a native population dating back to Ötzi or a much later Anatolian and later probably Mycenaean migration into Illyria and the Alpine region.

Certainly the Alpine region has very low levels of WHG.

Mainland Greece was heavily repopulated by Slavs, Aromanians, and Albanians. The Deep Mani have a different story they are still predominantly descended from Roman era Greeks. Tsakonians also still have a pretty large proportion of Roman era Greek ancestry not as much as Deep Mani.

Mainland Greece went under a series of natural disasters, invasions, urban decay, and plague.

Ignorant people think that South Italy and Greece are the same. These ignorant people are shocked when they see that Greece is genetically closer to Aryans than South Italy

Same with the liguro-tuscanoid 'Piedmontese' on G25 but we know many of these samples have been randomly collected from blood banks with no background check ; some averages will inevitably be more broken than others depending on sampling location and migration patterns.

Story is a bit different when each samples genealogy is taken into account (Peterski or Lucas must have a more updated version of this somewhere but you should get an idea) :

Swiss Italians sit exactly where you would expect, between Aostans and Lombards but closer to the former if anything.

Actually, no. What you're seeing is a result of the fact that the Italian Swiss G25 average consists of only three individuals who, while not originally from Italian Switzerland, have ancestry from other parts of Italy. As Vid Flumina correctly pointed out, this issue extends to other averages as well, such as the Piedmontese average, which originates from a border region with Liguria and Emilia and does not accurately represent the broader Piedmont area. However, the amateur averages from Eurogenes K13 show that only "Greek_Florina" is closer to Italian Switzerland, while the other Greek samples are more similar to Calabria.
