If yes, then for how long?

4th option for me. Not seeding torrents is a sin that every good Christian should avoid.

I used to not seed torrents at all, but now I've started doing it sometimes. I just set the upload limit to 5 kb or so, and let the torrent stay in the list for a few days.

Yes, but depends on the file. If the file is really popular, probably not. If the file has not many seeders, I will, and keep it that way :)

I do.

I used to, especially if it was a good find, but nowadays I honestly don't. I just download what I need and then close it. I don't know how I lost The Way.

I got sent a letter by HBO once for downloading Entourage (I hate that show). Right after reading that letter I just deleted the download and watched the same episode on stream lol. Luckily they didn't prosecute me, but they said they could if they wanted to. It ended up just being a warning. I was terrified.

Now I usually stream, sometimes download old rare movies, but I never seed. I'm afraid I might get in trouble for that so I try to limit my data trail as much as possible.

(my download of Entourage took 5 days to complete, so maybe they go after long seeders, and longer time span down-loaders)

Thanks for the edit. Saved me the response.

You know, up until recently when I joined a private tracker, I had no idea what "ratio" is :D
(and I know it as a concept now, but still haven't figured out how to see it on my own μtorrent) :p

I used to leave all the files on my torrent manager, even if complete, for months. I guess that was "unconscious seeding" :p
Then I started deleting them as soon as the download was complete, because I found out it slowed my connection :D (now that's a sin I'd be going to hell for) :p

So when I discovered one actually needs to give back a little, I leave the torrents I have downloaded for as much as possible.

Thing is, though, my computer still has some problems, so frequently it shuts down by itself. So I avoid leaving it open for too many hours, or when I am away from home. :)

seeding a lot, since i got a 1tb movable hd thingy. used to delete, simply due to datastorage constraints.

Besides, piratism has been prevented now in finland. they blocked the pirate bay, so its impossible for me to be guilty of piracy :D :D Site is blocked, so its impossible to get there, thus noone can steal and leave ..err... dead people.. without money!

Primarily books, some series and a few movies. music comes from youtube these days.

Yes I seed since I have bandwith to employ for it when I'm at work.

Seeding when one has spare bandwith is the basis of file sharing, after all, isnt it?

As of the legitimacy of file sharing, that's another question. I usually buy used CDs and LP (I'm an audiophile so I prefer vinyle, having a very good hi-fi), but I resort to file sharing just to discover new music.

Seed unto others as you would have them seed unto you.

Actually, when I read The Ripper's post, I was already imagining seed-drenched golden showers.
