It costs only 14 Euros / 15 Dollars if you want to buy just it without the Tellmegen report:

And they have over 2000 regional populations from around the whole world which is a lot.

My results.
The regions of Poland are very accurate, and I also have distant ancestry from northern Germany.
The only thing I don't understand is the percentage of Spain—I often get it in such reports.
Russia appears as well, although the percentage is too high; on Ancestry, it's only 4%. Overall, the report makes sense, and I’d rate it 8/10

Pomorskie Starogard is in first place. I’m not sure what to think about that. It seems like every Pole gets "south" and a fairly high percentage at that, which doesn’t align with reality. But if we disregard "south" as an error, the results aren’t bad. Still, Mazowieckie should be in first place.
My result was good. I must have something from the east; Russia keeps appearing. Schleswig was also accurate

You scored some regions on the German ethnic border such as Pomorskie West, Lubuskie Sorbs and Memel, so I guess your minor German (6%) is hiding there. Perhaps your German ancestor was not native to Munich but had ancestors from Eastern Germany? Leszno is on the border of Wielkopolskie and Lubuskie, so this can show up as Lubuskie. The southern European percentages can be attributed to ancestry from Podkarpackie (Vlach colonization / kolonizacja wołoska). Also it seems that some of your ancestors come from Slovakia, so they probably migrated north across the mountains at some point. West Ukrainian in combination with Mordvin is probably resulting in Central Ukrainian and East Ukrainian regions, or your ancestors from West Ukraine came from further east (Poltava Oblast). Remember that the test goes back to 900 years ago (Standard) and 500 years ago (Recent) so it might be different than what we know about recent generations.
900 years ago much of what is now Podkarpackie was still uninhabited by humans.

Yes, my girlfriend often has ancestry from those regions—just northeastern Poland. She also has a bit of Pomeranian, but not much + no German. In general, her results are always very eastern, even for a Pole.
Could you help interpret my results a bit? I’m particularly interested in the Russian and German percentages because they intrigue me.

These are regional GAC surpluses IMHO. I don't believe in a mass parachute drop of the Basques. Wrong model, nothing more.

Your Russian percentage is mainly from Rostov so I think that it may indicate some Cossack ancestry.
And your German is from ethnically Saxon settlers obviously as it is from the northernmost Germany.
You also scored minor Scottish so maybe you have a distant Scottish ancestor, there were lots of them in Poland.

My grandfather came from the Lublin region. Appearance might not be important, but part of his family looked—and still looks—distinctly southeastern, almost Cossack-like

Russki claimed that there has been a resurgence of EEF ancestry so maybe something related to this.
Or Southwest European merchants such as Ibrahim Ibn Jakub left admixture in Early Medieval Poland?
When you check Figlerowicz's study samples, there are some Southern European outliers among them.

If there was such a secondary EEF wave, it was highly processed in the LaTene form. What you see is IMO clearly some avatar resulting from atomization. In Stolarek's work you probably only have two outliers. Ibn Yakob was not a Basque but a Jew. This would be seen differently from the Basques or Spaniards.

In Stolarek's work you probably only have two outliers.
There are several, more than two (if you count both Roman Era and Medieval samples).
If you compare Early Medieval Wielkopolska average (after excluding outliers) with Modern Wielkopolska average, you will see that the Modern one has some sort of "southern" admixture which is not present in the Early Medieval one:

When I model Modern Wielkopolska with these populations, I get over 20% of Czech admixture. I don't think this is a realistic model.

First of all Alsatians are not Swabians. Secondly Swabian dialect was actually never spoken in Wielkopolska.
In northern Wielkopolska (north of the Warta River) there was Low German and in southern Middle German:

Do you know exactly all the varieties of German spoken in Greater Poland over the past 800 years? ;)
Well, it was a Silesian dialect, and Swabians migrated there. I assume that genetically Swabians and Alsatians are indistinguishable.
These are irrelevant details in the discussion. Your alleged surplus LBK is mainly Germans, not parachuted Basques. :bored:

(...) It is no accident that in slang every German is called a Szwab/Swabian.
Yes, but I'm pretty sure that this is derived from SW German settlers that came only after the Third Polish partition (1795), mostly to Central Poland that had become Prussian at that time. They mostly didn't thrive in those harsh conditions and left after some decade for Besarabia and some other parts of Russia.

True.
The Swabian label has been narrowed down somewhat in history. First the term was pretty wide as referring to all Suebian tribes. Later in the Middle Ages it become synonymous to Alemannians. The Duchy of Swabia was a tribal duchy that comprised essentially the Alemannic dialectal area, which includes Alsatia.

Here's a good map showing that dialectal area.

Well, not everyone scores "southern" percentages in this test.
With all due respect, the highest percentage of "southern" LBK in Poland is not in the south, but in Kujawy. Either it is the result of long-lasting co-existence with the Germans or it is a reminiscence in the Neolithic core of the GAC. Possibly both. The second one is the Opole region, where we can expect Germanic and Celtic admixtures.
According to this report, high homogeneity of native European populations is expected.

But those 16 great-great-grandparents are very good for orientation. If not being part of a mass migration, deviating ancestors farther back will hardly represent a notable proportion of the ancestry, I guess.

IMHO you won't get anything better from coordinate-based calculators. With a high focus on basic elements, Basques, Sardinians and Finns, or Kalash, appear. With a large distance, you have overlapping results in genetically close populations with specific profiles curved to the base populations. And so, instead of German admixture, you will have Czechs or Silesians as a result. I assume that only a comparison of entire sentences can be more informative.

The Denmark/Norway/German could be some Anglo-Saxon/Viking input. I don't know where Poland would come from (possibly from Viking input also) and also Georgia. It could be something ancient. I get a small amount of Georgian on G25.
Anyway it's quite realistic in my view.

Yes, my guess is that Polish is due to Slavs who were mercenaries supporting the Vikings in their raids against the British Isles.

I get Dagastan to Grace’s Georgia. Avars?
My Palatinate ancestry must be interpreted as “Dutch” in Recent variant.(In truth, I have distant bits of New Amsterdam, colonial New York and Wisconsin Settler Dutch) aaand that Palatinate must be the French in Standard.
my 1/8th Scandinavian is curiously absent, besides the stronger Finnish interpretation. 23andme has held consistently through all the updates that I am 1% Finnish, (and my maternal grandmother shows 2% Finnish with 15% Swedish.)
Overall, 1000% pirate results. I like these tests.
