Help in figuring out how to work with all the genetic calculators once I do an ancestry test?

I see all of these posts with KP13, Eurogenes, qpAdm etc and I get extremely confused. If I decide to do an ancestry DNA test, I use the info I've got from the test and then insert them in these calculators?

Or the process is much different than what I described. If possible, let some explanations be given. Thank you all.
