So my three living grandparents have all had testing, and I’d like to try to guess at what percentages my remaining, untested paternal grandfather could be.

For all of these, they are the comaprative screen shots and my results will always be on the left, theirs on the right

Here is my paternal grandmother

She is the only one to have taken AncestryDNA, her American groups are
“Early Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana & East Texas Settlers“ and “Southern Midwestern Settlers”

It appears that I am 3/4 Northern Yankee and 1/4 Southerner

Again, my own results on left, this time my maternal grandmother on the right

Here are her regions in 23andme. Her family came from Oklahoma, but she seems more upper midwestern than southerner by her genetics.

And his 23andme regions. From what I know, his ancestry is the most complete, and I’ve always had the closest familial ties with his extended family. His family is from the upper midwest reaching back to Pennsylvania/New York/Massachusetts.

What I know of my paternal grandfather, is German and English, or English and German, with distant Dutch. From New York(Originally New Amsterdam and more recently Western New York) and Maryland mostly.

He must have been very German to counter my grandmother’s English + Scottish by so much.
