Including distantly (3-4% of AASI ancestry)?
Because I find that many residents of the Balkans have distant South Asian features

Those are Gypsies.

Exotic traces in some non-Gypsy Balkanites are much more Anatolian and MENA that South Asian.

I guess that is quite rare maybe except for Romania and Bulgaria due to higher percentage of Gypsies, many organizations estimate that there is an underestimation of the total % of Gypsies in those two countries regarding their official statistics about the issue. They argue that many gypsies or half gypsies prefer to self identify as Romanian or Bulgarian because of the stigma or to avoid discrimination. So maybe people with distant Gypsy might be a bit more common in there.

I've heard the same about Slovakia and Hungary, but I guess in those countries discrimination is much more widespread and people don't mix at all either nowdays or in the past.

White people in Balkans / Eastern Europe very rarely if ever have Gypsy ancestors. On the other hand, Gypsies tend to have European admixture. Mixed individuals tend to assimilate into the Gypsy community.

That's true but some of my favorite Eastern European adult actresses have gypsy ancestry like Angel Dark. I really got to know her, believe me.

There are many gypsies claiming to be from some balkan nation. That is what confuse you probably.
When Hungarian gypsies travel or migrate abroad, they often say they're Hungarian.
