It seems to me there is a common Archetype across some European, Anatolian, and Iranian cultures.

Armenians:
Hayk (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hayk)

Germans:
Arminius (Erminaz) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arminius)

If you know more, please list. As these figures have become more mythic than anything else. I believe at one point they existed, but became mythic later.

Armenian bow from Artik (Shirak province) from ca. 1,700 BCE. It might be similar to the bow that Hayk (the legendary forefather of the Armenian people) used to slay the Semitic tyrant Bel (traditional date atributed to August 11, 2492 BCE). I realize there is a gap of about 800 years between the Artik bow and the date attributed to Hayk's victory.
