I found your forum advertised on another forum, agreed it was a worthy cause and joined. Now a question for the mods. The other forum decided that swastikas were offensive to potential members and so decided to ban their use in avatars, including mine, even though mine is quite clearly in no way shape or form related to National Socialism.

any thoughts or comments from the mods on this?

It's hard to believe, isn't it, that prior to the rise of National Socialism, the swastika was accepted throughout the west as a positive symbol of life.

Unfortunately, the Jews claimed the swastika as a spoil of war and now claim the sole right to determine who may use it (no one) and the motives of any person that dares use it (anti-semitism).

Jews seem to have forgotten or never knew that the swastika has never gone out of favor in those parts of the world where Jewish interests don't dominate.

It's time to wrest control of the swastika from the Jews and restore it to it's rightful place in the history and iconography of mankind.

Thank you, I just wanted to make sure. When one joins a new forum, one wants to take care not to offend the powers that be. :D

As long as it's not a cultish obsession. We at The Apricity are ordinary people who are concerned about our culture or heritage. Using swastikas often give the wrong impression to outsiders, which is probably why the forum you referred to has banned its usage. One has to take care that you don't scare people off from finding out more about what is really important. The swastika is not. As an icon it has been tarnished, we can do nothing about that.

I assure that any icon you chose to represent your cause will soon be denounced by those that oppose you.

Tarnish (ignorance) can be removed, all it takes is education.

Here's a swastika link for you.

I'm not here to obsess about the swastika, just to promote it in my own small way :D

You're welcome to do that, we believe in freedom of speech. :)

...and have a nearly complete collection
of the magazine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boys%27_Life)
and the handbooks -

up to nineteen-ninety,
when i said ne plus ultra.

the "thanks badge" was common
in the teens and twenties:

http://www.theapricity.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=72&stc=1&d=1227535254

the teacher of my favorite oppugnancy techniques (http://web.archive.org/web/20080615182419/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limalama)
was a devout collector, reader
and reciter of rudyard kipling (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rudyard_Kipling).

unusual behavior for a samoan.

one evening, during exercises,
he made - what, at first, seemed incomprehensible sounds
regarding my hair- and eye-color,
nazis and kipling.

to prompt a response,
he dragged me in to his office

and pulled some kipling
from his collection on the shelves.

there were flyfots on the hard-back covers
and inside the old books.

to his great relief,
i pointed out the dates for the nazi party
in his favorite reference work (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Encyclopedia_Americana).

he was proud to have been a united states marine
and to be an american citizen.

thinking his favorite author was a nazi
had bothered him.

he turned off the country/western music
and we went home.
