Really worth listening to if you're interested in near death experiences. :thumb001:Also there's a great Coast to Coast interview in the "related videos" section if you want to hear more from him.

Mel Van Dusen interviews renowned cardiologist Pim van Lommel about his research into the near-death experience and it's implications for a radically new paradigm for living in the 21st century

Pim van Lommel has more of 20 years studying near-death experiences (NDE's) and know cases where hypoxia is impossible. The funny thing is the guy doesn't believe in god, is a cardiologist and a scientific researcher but believes in the afterlife. He gets mocked in Germany as Lom van Pimmel (Lom of Dick).

Though I admit some of his references are shit, but overall there's just too much data and actual statistics to reject it. Consciousness during brain death has happened, it's undeniable with all the data. Explaining it is a different matter.

He began looking into the effect of NDE memories in 2001. He found that they caused a “permanent change” in the subject. People lost their fear of death, became happier, more positive, and more outgoing. Nearly all of them reported their NDE as a hugely positive thing that had even more impact on their lives as time passed.

Interestingly, these changes weren't just restricted to people who were predisposed to positivity or religious belief. No matter what their personality was before, those who'd experienced NDEs tended to share a very similar psychological profile afterwards.
