I saw the link to this in Peterski's signature.

My DNA Origin analysis for 12 EUR (you get 2 reports examining ancestry from 2114 regions, 190 countries): https://www.exploreyourdna.com/DNAOrigin.aspx

This analysis is not based on G25 but on ADMIXTURE. And it has more regions than any other DNA test!

There are two reports. Standard and Recent. 16 pages each. I made screen shots of 7 pages. Here they are:

Standard

That's weird, that they don't put Russia under Europe anymore, as is usual with genetic reports. Now it's like its own continent. Probably politially motivated, I'm sure.

It looks very detailed though, I might do it myself. I see it's 15 euro..

It's 12 Euro. $14 and change in US dollars.

I was surprised to see Sardinia and Khunzakh Avar.

You don't have to be a Russophobic to consider Avars from Daguestan "non-European".

Most of Russia is not in Europe, and there are many different ethnic groups in that country, many of which can hardly be considered "European."

And , well, nothing against it but ...83% of the population of Dagestan is muslim, not sure about Avars, maybe a Russian member can say more about this issue.

Who taught you geography? Russia is in Europe (at least partially -- but the largest part of the Russian population is located in European Russia). And for the purpose of this topic, it's even more relevant, since most Russians are of European race/descent. In fact the Indo-Europeans originated in what is now Russia.

As for Muslims... ever heard of Bosnia and Albania... or London and Birmingham??

I read that his focus with this project is France... which has thusfar been neglected in genetic studies. So this will be great for me, since I have quite a bit of ancestors from France and surrounds.

Loki, you're arguing for the sake of arguing. You're saying it yourself: not all of Russia is in Europe, and not all ethnic groups in Russia can be considered European.

Bosnian Muslims and Albanian are European, they are mostly genetically European despite their religion, but British Pakistanis are not European, because we are talking about genetics, and genetically they are not.

Loki,

The test covers 120 regions in Russia and a lot of them are in the Asian part of Russia, which is why I count Russia separately (because the algorithm sums up regional populations to countries and countries to continents; so reporting Asian Russian regions as Europe would be wrong and reporting European Russian regions as Asia would also be wrong, so Russia is its own thing).

Yes, all French regions are represented in the test!

Piotr Kapuscinski wrote this to me:

Hello,

Find attached below the Ancestry Reports. These are based on your MyHeritage raw data file.

Have a great day! And let me know if you have any questions or feedback about your results!

Hello,

Thank you for my Ancestry Reports.

I do have a question/feedback. My paper trail ancestry is 62.5% British (English,Ulster Scots, Welsh), 25% Slovak, and 12.5% NW European (Dutch, French, German). Why don't I have anything in the British Isles?

Best Regards,
Elizabeth

Then Piotr wrote this:

Hello,

My opinion is that your DNA is very highly Anglo-Saxon, Norman and Viking influenced, much above average for Britain, which is why the algorithm chose mostly German and Dutch regions for you. Your Slovak part appears to also be German-admixed (it is possible because there were many German-speaking communities in Slovakia in the past).

I have processed your results again, this time after excluding all Dutch and German populations. This is what you score with Netherlands and Germany excluded:

I hope it helps.

Just shows you how close and interconnected England, Netherlands and Germany are. Sometimes you can't tell them apart.
