I thought it would be interesting, since there are so many people on here from diverse locations, to find out how many modern musical groups/artists we all listen to from different European Countries. I had a look through my playlist and was surprised to find that I don’t have anything from some major European Countries: Spain, Poland, Estonia, Belgium.

I can speak on behalf of the Spanish bands since I know them; La Union and Heroes del Silencio are Rock/Pop bands, Extremoduro is more Heavy Metal influenced.

There are certainly "musical regions", so to speak. You notice that only by taking a glance at the top charts. The French, for instance, since to have a thing for electropop. Metal is no doubt more followed in northern countries than in the southern ones. This is not to say that there are not a lot of metal bands in the southern countries too, and lots of followers, although most followed bands commonly border hard rock or have a symphonic or 'clean' touch.

One from Spain: Legendario (El Cid), by Tierra Santa, which might have been Don's theme. :D

The Italian band I'm more acquainted with is Lacuna Coil.

As for Catalan metal bands, they haven't been that abundant. Sangtraït is one I used to like, yet they played mainly metal ballads.
