I wonder how the ethnic identity of the Pontic Greeks was formed. It is said that they are not exactly "classical" Greeks. If we look at the results of G25 genetic studies, we can see that they are closer to Armenians, although they are not completely identical to them. They are more or less hellenized Anatolians and caucasian people Laz Armenias, with a pinch of Greek.
They have lived in that area and mixed with the locals 2-3 thousend years, the only Greek they have is maby the food there eating, i have many friends that are Pontic Greek and some have taken dna test, And i who is not Greek am closer to Greeks then they are, and by a lot

They didn't dislike them and called them different names, mainlanders just envied them because the state was gaving them grounds and they insulted them for that reason.
