I just wanted to share something I stumbled on that I think some of you will find pretty interesting. It’s a project called Admixr where people can send in their anonymized AncestryDNA match data, and the site compiles stats by countries, genetic communities (Journeys) and even by regions inside countries.
The way it works is super simple: you run a little Python tool on your own computer (everything is processed locally), and then you send the anonymized file to the project maintainer. I tried it myself with my own matches, and it is definitely a neat way to get more insight into regional patterns on AncestryDNA. The more people contribute, the larger and more robust the database becomes, which means stronger statistical support for the insights and trends being shared.
Here’s the link if you want to check it out: https://admixr.com/
