Dear Apricity Members,
I hope this message finds you well. I’m currently researching the genetic ancestry of modern European populations, with a specific focus on the proportions of Western Hunter-Gatherer (WHG) and Eastern Hunter-Gatherer (EHG) contributions. I’m looking for reliable datasets or studies that quantify these ancestral components across contemporary European groups.

Question: Could anyone share insights, data, or references to peer-reviewed studies that clarify the relative proportions of WHG and EHG ancestry in Northern and Eastern European populations, particularly Balts and Slavs? I’m especially interested in datasets or analyses that quantify these components and discuss their distribution across specific populations. If available, information on methodologies or sample sizes would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,
Athelwulf

Try the PuntDNAL K12 Near East calc if you can. It uses these components:

EHG-Steppe
Oceanian
East_Eurasian
Iran_N
Siberian
Sub-Saharan
African_HG
South_Eurasian
Western_HG
Natufian_HG
Amerindian
Anatolian_N

my result with merged data file, for example:

Components %
EHG-Steppe 31.14
Oceanian 2.16
East_Eurasian 0.00
Iran_N 6.98
Siberian 0.00
Sub-Saharan 0.00
African_HG 0.00
South_Eurasian 2.00
Western_HG 20.74
Natufian_HG 2.47
Amerindian 1.40
Anatolian_N 33.11
