I don't think I'd ever do it. I don't want to get cloned into a dystopian hellscape.

Also, fuck their company in general. They should've kept accepting transfer kits. Their ethnicity estimate algorithm isn't good enough to justify buying one of their kits instead of a competitor, in my opinion. Unless you're ravenously horny for matches who live in Europe. They also inflate the amount of cM you share with your matches, since they don't account for DNA "pile- up regions". Their UI for genealogy/family tree building is shit as well.

I do like that they allow you to see which segments you share with your matches. Wish the other companies did that, but they're too afraid of getting any more bad PR from data leaks.

I received an email message from them today about this news in their blog.

If my DNA is processed by MyHeritage using Whole Genome Sequencing, will I notice big improvements in my results right away?

You may notice small improvements initially, but the most significant benefits will take more time to appear. That’s because MyHeritage first needs to grow a large database of DNA kits processed with Whole Genome Sequencing. Once that happens, all kits in the database will be re-phased, re-imputed and re-matched — and at that point, the difference will be noticeable. You’ll receive more accurate DNA Matches, a greater number of matches, especially more distant ones, and fewer false matches. Ethnicity Estimates will also improve over time. Please keep in mind that major changes won’t happen right away.

I am actually interested and excited for this, especially with the disappointing updates from other DNA companies recently. But I have had an interest in researching the information and specific markers I'd get from a WGS test.
