I wonder why it says 50% Ukrainian, 50% German. Anyone have any insight?

By default, the model decomposes the values into the extreme feasible positions.

How trustable is this site to use?

From which regions is your Polish and your German based on paper trail genealogy?

It looks accurate for maybe Poles who are 100% Polish, but it's not the worst I've seen tbh. I think it kinda modeled how my admixture looks rather than actual ancestry.

Try my DNA Origin analysis, it should be more accurate for someone who is 3/4 Polish and 1/4 German.

All my Polish family is from Małopolska (specifically, the Gorce Mountains and northeastern Małopolska, such as the Tarnów area). German, I don't know, unfortunately. My maternal grandfather had to have been adopted or lied to about his ancestry because he claimed he was half Irish and half Italian, but that is not the case on any DNA site.

Which file did you use? I’ve noticed that when using a file from Ancestry, the results tend to be “inflated,” whereas files from other companies produce very good results.

I did use the file from Ancestry.. Maybe that is why the results turned out as is.

Hello, fellow German/Polak blend.

Yeah, I’d look at this reault as less “literal” and more…esoterically interpretive on Ancestry’s part…
(Edit: or this third party result based on the Ancestry data….)

That explains a lot. I also have a highly overestimated German percentage in my Ancestry report, but the result from MyHeritage is much more accurate.

This just means that your Polish side is around 30% German-like.

Yeah, I'd say that's probably right? This is what I get from vahaduo using two different medieval calcs:

Target: me:me

71.2 Slavic_medieval
18.6 Germanic_medieval

Target: me:me
