While splurging on DNA kits from various companies I figured I'd try some new reports as well, from ExploreYourDNA (https://www.exploreyourdna.com/) and YourRootsDNA.net (https://yourrootsdna.net/). I chose the former because they advertise a "French Focus":

Specialized database with detailed French regional data that commercial tests lack.

It seems West Asia here is a proxy for Amerindian. I'm not sure why I'm 25% North Roman Italy. Is that typical for Ancient French? I would've thought the Gaul components would've been greater.

Evidently I am only 11% Indigenous Stone Age European, almost half farmer but 40% conqueror?

The following are my YourRootsDNA ancient and standard reports. They both have me a bit farther east than I suspect should be the case, and I wonder if this is the trace Amerindian exerting its effect again.

West Asia wouldn't be Native American. If the test picked it up, it would assign something like Siberian or some east Asian proxy. Native Americans are East Eurasian and West Asia means Anatolia, Caucasus, & Iran (for the most part) All three are Near Easterners and are West Eurasian.

The Republic of Metz are Gallo-Romans. At least that's how some of the samples are labeled in the IllustrativeDNA qpAdm dataset.

One would have to look at that North Roman sample and see if it has a predominately southern Gaulish profile.

The percentage of Friuli which you scored is based on samples from the Sappada community:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sappada

Tomorrow I will check what you score if I exclude Sappada from the algorithm (what replaces it).

I just sent you the new results with Friuli Sappada removed from the algorithm.

Do you actually have Balearic ancestry?
