I was checking a Dutch infrastructure forum (http://www.wegenforum.nl/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=225) and there were a lot of pictures behind links of Dutch lamp posts that are or were in use and since I guess that I am not the only infrastructure geek...

Typical designs of the Dutch Reconstruction era (most of the lamps are designed by Dutch companies).. mainly in The Hague (http://www.santaarnpaal.net/coppermine/displayimage.php?album=53&pid=714#top_display_media). Some more The Hague (http://www.flickr.com/photos/ra_ar21/6244797190/in/set-72157627899968278/) (most of it has now been replaced) - some of the designs were made by the famous Dutch architect Berlage (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hendrik_Petrus_Berlage) (during the 1920s):
