I support NATO the UN its just a play ground for lunatics to state their voice and create trouble.
I say lets brake up the UN, and let Nato lead and dominate the world.
The world would be better off, and justice would get done faster anywhere its needed, gettin rid off un.

The malcontents of the Third World need a place to vent their spleens, otherwise they could become a problem. The real power resides in the Security Council where we can veto anything dangerous.

The UN has problems, but these are problems that would exist without the UN. What the UN does do is help coordinate responses to global trouble before it gets too out of hand. It can also authorize the use of collective force against threats to international security.

Well, everyone should have a vote in global matters I guess but the fact that some cannibal tribes enjoy the same rights as established nations is sort of stupid (yeah, that's coming from a third-worlder:p)

The US is the main decision maker, of course, as it should be.

You're a Second Worlder. So are Russians, incidentally.

Nah, Russkies are doing far better in terms of wealth but they sure suck at public services and general security.

You might look up the origins of First World, Second World, and Third World. The Second World referred specifically to the Soviet-led Communist bloc.

I know. Thing is I don't find this classification satisfying enough. Kyrgyzastan and Tadjikistan are already Third World however you look at it. Russia is on the other hand not far from First World.

I have served with the U.N. as part of a peace keeping force, and I as a serviceman followed orders, my own views mean very little to my chain of command.

That said, I saw many wrong do'ers, and many wrong acts by many people, some with the U.N. and by the U.N.
But I really think without them a whole lot of other wrong acts will take place, a lot of very wrong and ugly acts.

I as a medic served many times all over the place, with many different branches of the U.N. treated civilian and combatants the same.

I believe if we do not have the U.N. then we will need something very similar so as "they" say if it's not broke ect...
