I think he has more of a Northern Balkan look as if he could fit into Serbia, Montenegro, or Croatia. There is a wide Balkan look in retrospect, and I think that should make us realize the vast diversity and variety of what typifies a Balkan look.


My stereotypical understanding of the Balkan look is some sort of Robust Dinarid, Dinaro-Cro-Magnon, and Dinaro-Alpinoid/Alpinoid-Cro-Magnon. This guy has a pseudo-British look in a way, and sort of seems like a pushover compared to some of the real stereotypical Balkan looks I can think of.


I think of a much rougher, robust, and coarser type when I think of the typical Balkan Slavic look. I just realized you said Balkan Slav look, so my post is a bit off topic, but nevermind.

Black hair in Bulgaria is a result of foreign admixture (most likely with Turanid or Armenoid influence) and is as rare as those types. I'm just referring to the stereotype of "woggy Black sea coastals". They aren't darker, they're just more tanned :)

Under shadow very dark brown hair appears raven black. My friends have been asking me if I dye my hair black :D But on AS several people told me my hair is very dark brown. Not all Slavs are Russians. Read about the Thracians (they had kingdom 2500 years ago), the ancient Bulgarians (Bulgars), (they are very ancient Iranic tribe and even lived in Caucasus for a period of time), the invention of Cyrilic alphabet. Bulgarian state is almost 1500 years old and was one of the greatest European empires. Our history isn't less significant than Georgian in any case. The alphabet Russians use today is written by Bulgarians and Bulgarians baptized the Russians together with the Byzantines.

I think he has more of a Northern Balkan look as if he could fit into Serbia, Montenegro, or Croatia. There is a wide Balkan look in retrospect, and I think that should make us realize the vast diversity and variety of what typifies a Balkan look.


My stereotypical understanding of the Balkan look is some sort of Robust Dinarid, Dinaro-Cro-Magnon, and Dinaro-Alpinoid/Alpinoid-Cro-Magnon. This guy has a pseudo-British look in a way, and sort of seems like a pushover compared to some of the real stereotypical Balkan looks I can think of.


I think of a much rougher, robust, and coarser type when I think of the typical Balkan Slavic look. I just realized you said Balkan Slav look, so my post is a bit off topic, but nevermind.

The Balkans does vary alot for definite as much as places like Italy, France, Germany, The British Isles and Eastern Europe for definite.
