I've thought for a while on why there are not closer links between Irish and Scottish Gaelic speaking communities, as the small differences amount mostly to dialect, terminology and orthography. I propose the standardisation of Gaelic as well as a spelling reform.

After doing some research I found the Columba Project which seeks to foster bonds between speakers of Scottish and Irish Gaelic. While Manx Gaelic is not included, the Manx have gotten more involved in recent years.
