I voted "horse" cause I've already eaten once. Didn't like it. Wouldn't eat anything from this list... :p

Of those options, I've had horse, bear and reindeer. I would try everything at least once.

In Latvia we have smoked sausages called "beer cigars", of which I am very fond of.
Once while eating them I started to examine the ingredients and noticed they are like 50/50 pork/horse meat .

A relative of mine is a hunter, so I have ate wild animal meat like deer and boar, though these aren't so exotic, I think.

When I was a child, my father made it a habit of killing our dinner more often than not. He had a farm and raised chickens, rabbits, and goats.

We ate a lot of rabbit. It never sat well with me, as being a little girl, I loved rabbits and thought they were adorable. He also made us eat goat....which was equally distasteful to me.

Meats I have eaten because he forced us to are:
Rabbit (gross)
Goat (gross)
Dove (the bird) (gross...not to mention we got sick off it)
Duck (gross)
Shark (meh)

Meats I've eaten on my own as an adult out of curiosity sake:
Buffalo (tastes like beef overall)
Venison (not fond of it)
Eel (won't ever eat that shit again)

Pretty much, I won't be eating any freaky meats anymore.....my childhood was enough for me.....so no escargot, calmari, octapus, squid, dog, cat, dolphin, etc.......uh uh. I get a gag reflex just thinking about it....

Meats I like are:
Beef
Buffalo
Chicken (dark meat only)
Turkey
Occasional pork.....but hardly ever
Shrimp
Scallops
Fish
Mussels
Clams
Abalone
Oysters

As a child, I was forced to eat snake (!) and frog by my first step-mother. The frog wasn't so bad, but the snake was...quite vile. Over 30 years later, I still remember the taste. I don't even want to think about where the snake came from!

I've also tried (small) bites of duck and venison, but I've never really even liked meat all that much, except for some chicken or lean ground beef once in a while. If I never ate meat again, I'd be completely happy, and I wouldn't miss it at all.

I ticked
Snake
Turtle
Alligator
Shark
Kangaroo
Frog
Lion

I already had Bear and deer, absolutely delicious.
The local village hunter shot down a deer and brought my family a big chunk of it.
We made goulash from it, probably the most delicious goulash I had so far.

Snake: :hungry:, liked it. Bonus: drank the snake's blood, too.

Turtle: :hungry:, liked it. A bit soggy tho, but okay in soup, which is how I had it.

Bear: :hungry: -- if sausages made of bear meat count.

Horse: :hungry: Restaurant Kivi on Helsinki's most notorious hooker street serves "Cossack steaks", recommended. :thumbs up

Reindeer: :hungry: Duh! Rudolf's proper place is on my plate.

Shark: :hungry: Hey, who doesn't love Hakarl (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/4/42/Hakarl_near_Bjarnahöfn_in_Iceland.JPG/800px-Hakarl_near_Bjarnahöfn_in_Iceland.JPG)?

Frog (legs): :hungry:

Bonus: I've also had whale in Norway, which I guess should be on the poll. I've also tried tried beaver tail boiled in milk, which was surprisingly good.

Of the items on the list I haven't tried, I would try kangaroo, camel and buffalo. I wouldn't eat guinea pigs, sorry.

I would like to try any kind of snake. A curious thing I've heard from people from the jungle: Once you eat snake meat, you won't be able to puke it no matter what.

I've already had a few of the list & I never was interested in dog, lion, cat, ginea pig(seems like a sad meal to me), camel & spider(though many insects are pure protein so maybe I should save the ones I kill:shrug:)

maybe more on the primate side: ring tailed monkey, gorilla, human, baboon etc. although I never did like pork so how good will people even be:grumpy:

I never had horse meat here but i live on the coast where seafood is more common. Still, cow, pig and chicken are the most common meats. Out of that list i would try Buffalo, Kangaroo (i imagine it would be similar to rabbit, which isn't exotic here) and maybe reindeer.

Camel meat is great, and it has a very unique taste to it. I had it a lot as kid, and not it's not exotic at all. I have had buffalo not much different than beef but it just feel better. From all those listed just Camels and Buffalo the rest don't set well with me, maybe if it was a kangroo but this how far I will take it.

And next time I visit Florida, I'm making a b-line for the gator bites.

Buffalo is exotic to Americans? It's not all that uncommon in Canada, I thought it would be the same in the US.

In Canada, though, buffalo is very expensive so it's obvously not eaten often.

Rabbit, deer, caribou, and moose are consider "special occasion meats" in my family. We break it out around Christmas. Buffalo is served at a few high-end restaurants around here, so is boar.

Just rabbit, alligator, and snake.

Rabbit tastes like the dark meat, snake and alligator taste like the white meat.

Alligators and snakes, as reptiles, are actually related to birds (birds are much more closely related to reptiles than mammals) which may explain the similarity to some extent.

Spiders and other meaty bugs are good with chocolate; at least that is what my grandmother told me.

The last time 17 year cicadas emerged from the ground en masse, I googled for recipes and found, and tried, a few. The ones I covered were disgusting and were the only desert I ever made that stayed in the fridge uneaten. Those I stir fried were fine, like shrimp.

Of the options in the poll, I don't think buffalo or shark are exotic anymore in the US. I eat them regularly. Most game animals I have eaten at some point in my life. Bear I ate as a small kid when my family lived in a very remote part of Canada. Reindeer and moose are staples in Swedish restaurants. Frog I ate in France along with snails. I've had turtle soup, ostrich, and alligator in well-stocked specialty restaurants. I have not knowingly tried snake, horse, or kangaroo yet but am willing. I would consider eating a fried tarantula if I ever go to Cambodia just to say I had done it.

I would balk at eating cat or dog but have eaten in enough Chinese restaurants that, if there is any truth to the rumors, I have probably consumed some, or maybe it was ratmeat.

The one exotic food that is conspicuously missing from the poll is long pig.

We have a burger bar 2 miles away that sells buffalo burgers, kangaroo burgers, Ostrich and Boar burgers.
We have a tree here we call the "Egg n Bacon" tree as you can eat every part of it. Leaves, bark, pulp an roots.
