The dual monarchy was of course also evil, but much more civilized and "democratic" during occupation of Serb lands.

It's largely because Serbia is not Russia or Germany in terms of military capability and population. Serbia has to depend on bigger countries to support it... like every other small country. There was a time when we had a thing called Yugoslavia but it shouldn't have evolved into Yugoslavia but rather remained as State of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. ;) :D
