The genre I've tried to escape for years but always wind up coming back to.

Great BM subgenre, although I don't listen to it that often. My favorites are Abyssic Hate, Bethlehem, Hypothermia, Shining, Xasthur and SOMETIMES Lifelover.

Oh yeah, that's right.

Also, I forgot to mention the band Silencer.

Cannot go wrong with Silencer, Death Pierce Me is a classic, had the song Sterile Nails and Thunderbowels posted up in the OP.

Out of all the albums that I have bought over the years spanning the various sub-genres of Black Metal Silencer Death Pierce Me 2001 is the only one that I held onto (I made sure to "back up" my other CD's before I sold them off).

I need to save up to purchase some Abyssic Hate, Xasthur and Trist, all are must haves in a collection.

Awesome! I never would've guessed that you were into DSBM.

Here's Wigrid, from Germany.

Ya, been floating about the Black Metal world since I was 14, got into DSBM when I was 17, fell in and out with it as I've tried to pull myself up by the bootstraps so to say however it all feels unnatural without DSBM so I have taken that as a sign that my mind is healthy when I can indulge.

If you claim to be into DSBM yet don't know this song, you're a poseur.

It may seem odd considering what DSBM is by name, but this music soothes and makes my mind at ease. It is all that I truly enjoy aside from banjo, cannot explain it, it all is just "right".

Depends on what kind of dsbm it is to me. While stuff as Shining makes me happy, stuff as Trist and Hypothermia can really drag me down.

I can see that with Hypothermia and Trist, those two go good with a top shelf drink. Something like Abyssic Hate on the other hand makes me want to punch a midget, triggers something aggressive.

Yeah, but most of Abyssic Hate's music can't really be called Suicidal black metal anyways. A part of the stuff on Suicidal Emotions is, but the rest... Meh..:P Just regular black metal.

Well, Trist has now risen to the top of my list, I've always liked their music but lately it's what's communicating the best (prior top was Silencer, I still like Silencer but the falsetto scream gets on my nerves a bit). Trist seems IMO to capture what Abyssic Hate attempted to do in Suicidal Emotions, but at a much more superior level (there's some similarities in song construction at the instrumental level).

Yeah, Trist has always been my favourite DSBM band.
