I'm not so fond of the current Lithuanian flag.. But Burmese people apparently are

New Burma’s flag almost identical to Lithuanian

Myanmar military junta surprised the world by announcing a new country’s flag. Lithuania was surprised the most; the flag is strikingly similar to the Lithuanian tricolour. The new flag of Myanmar or Burma, appears almost identical to the flag of Lithuania, except it has a large white star in the centre.

‘There are many similar flags. I don’ know if we are going to declare some kind of copyright, as we don’t have the star. We had stars and don’t need them anymore,’ the Prime Minister of Lithuania Andrius Kubilius told journalists on 22 October. The Prime Minister had in mind the flag of Soviet Lithuania.

I found this quite funny too :D

Lithuania congratulates Myanmar on upgrading their flag and encourages others to do the same, Lithuanian digital agency Gaumnia.lt came up with such an idea, after Myanmar on 21 October announced to the world that it is changing its national flag.

The idea to „Lithuanize“ world flags came after the huge online buzz on new Myanmar‘s national flag looking so similar to our national flag. „So similar“, ,twin flag“, ,exactly the same“, ,amazingly similar“ – the comments on the similarity were avalanching from the news portals to the murky parts of the internet, the agency said to the Lithuania Tribune.

„As Myanmar‘s new flag looks so similar to our national flag, we concluded that our flag is very good. Actually, for us, Lithuanians, it is the best in the world. So we are pleased to see that it evident, and not only to us alone!

As changing a national flag into a better one is a long and complicated administrative process (it took around 4 years to Myanmar to upgrade their flag), we were scared that the other states can loose loads of precious time going through the numerous design proposals and long decision making processes. So we simply made the proposals for the other states to upgrade their flag designs faster. The vector files can be given for free. Lithuanians are a very creative nation and can always help if the creativity is needed.”,- Darius Bagdziunas, the director of digital agency Gaumina.lt told jokingly to the Lithuania Tribune.

Who knows, perhaps the Lithuanian flag one day might become one of the most successful Lithuania’s export, after basketball.

you forgot theseWhy should the flags created by the unlawful government that was instated by occupants be counted as "Baltic"?

There's not a drop of "Balticness" in them - be it the designs (both look abhorrent!) or the ideology behind them.

Estonian Oeselian pagan coat of arms before the occupation of the crusaders was the Karja Triskele depicting of the fall of Kalev / Kalevipoeg / Suur Tõll / Kaali meteorite. It is on the ceiling of the Karja Church:

I'm curious as to what you think of the Deutschbalten identity. Still part of Germany, or something of its own?

Something connected to both Germans and Baltics.
