Hi, does anyone know of a gene for bent pinky fingers or if this trait is of a certain ethnicity or nationality? When I say "bent pinky fingers" I am referring to both pinky fingers being bent in towards the ring finger at around the pinky finger's last joint (last joint on the finger before the fingernail). I know that it is hereditary like male pattern baldness. I have also heard that its a Native American trait and I have heard that its an Irish trait.

Towards the ring finger? I don't know what that's called, but I have it, slightly. All my fingers actually.
I think it's from my years of elementary school, being made to clench hands firmly together, everyday, on the desk, for long periods of time.
My pinkies lean toward ring fingers, ring fingers lean towards middle fingers, middle fingers lean towards ring fingers, and my index fingers lean towards middle fingers.

lol, that is interesting. However, what I am talking about is something your born with and just the pinky finger.

Funny, both my gf and her father have this trait. She hates it.

I think it's pretty common. I rarely see anyone with completely straight fingers.

My right pinky is anatomically straight, my left bends in towards the ring finger slightly.

My left index finger is straight, but the right bends away from the middle finger, at the first joint as you describe.
