Were those regiments strictly Muslim?

My whole family was mobilized in K.u.K. army, those in Galicia surrendered to Russians and joined the Serbian army on Macedonian front and those on Italian front(including my greatgrandfather) fought until the end of the war. Apparently, those Serbs(don't know about the others) were determined to fight Italians because of their territorial aspirations on Dalmatia.

I dont know much about Bosnian regiments.

My great grandfathers fought for the K.u.K.. One of their final battle was in the Caucuses, only 4 out of 1500 men came back. The survivors walked all the way back home to Pula.

Throughout its short-lived history it was always 90%+ Bosniak. And since people were very religious back then, we can assume they were Muslim. At most it was 96% Bosniak, at lowest it was 92% Bosniak. Second largest group was Croats, 2-4%, then Serbs 1-2%, then the rest <1%.
