Great and informative compilation, beautiful. Thanks!
I have all the photos from this book:
http://www.manoknyga.lt/knyga/lietuviu-tautinis-kostiumas/virselis-400.jpg
So, I'll just post 15 photos for each region (that's the photos-per-post limit of the forum but it will be nearly all pics anyway).
Let's start with Samogitia:

Very nice costumes. In my opinion there is nothing more beautiful than a maiden in traditional dress.

I'm always doubtful when claims about authenticity of folks costumes are made today.
Well, these must indeed by authentic.
There are 19th century sources in Prussia that complain about the disappearance among Lithuanians of these colourful dresses and the quality of their yarns.

Authentic medieval headdressed (wimples) used to be made from the finest linen cloths but at home an improvised wimple could be made from a bedsheet. The cloth should be ~3m (10ft) long & 0.5 - 0.7m (1,6 - 2,3ft) wide.
Italian women abandoned their headcloths already in the 15th century but in some areas of the Baltics this was an everyday accessory up until the early 20th century. Its origin can be traced back to the early Medieval period when wimple was popular all over Europe - the Wife of Bath and the Prioress are depicted wearing them in Geoffrey Chaucer's "Canterbury Tales".
Nowadays the tradition is carried on by the folk ensembles and singers in North-Eastern Lithuania (Aukštaitija).

Klumpė (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clog_(shoe))(clog)
A clog is a type of footwear made in part or completely from wood. Clogs are used worldwide and although the form may vary by culture, within a culture the form often remained unchanged for centuries.

I have to say that I was really really happy that I finally got this apology, birds were singing and all. But then that you'd right after this repeat your offense (call me creep).. that is just crushing and really low of you (Phew, such a rollercoaster!). It then made me question the whole seriousness of your apology and actually no, I don't think it was a serious apology. I really have to wonder why you would do this.. other than maybe you want to apologize me again maybe?
Well anyway dresses look nice and all I guess :bored:

Under the influence of the evangelical Stundenhalter/surinkiminkai movement (second half of 19th century) among Prussian-Lithuanians the colourful dresses disappeared and gave way to darkish clothes, almost Amish-like. Unfortunately this also impacted other secular folk traditions negatively.

Reminds me of this Prussian saying:
"Round Insterburg there live 5000 Lithuanians and 5000 shoemakers."

Eduard Gisevius (1798-1880) left about 150 paintings of women and girls of the Lower Nemunas area in formal dress; the paintings were housed in the Museum of Königsberg until World War II.
Gisevius, especially impressed by one experience, wrote that this eyes were opened “by a new fantasy -freeing scene: my whole attention was suddenly drawn to the women and maidens… Their very traditional and unpretentious but eye-appealing apparel was a remarkable sight, in sharp contrast with the drab clothing of the men in their grey homespun coarse woollen jackets and blue woollen jerseys. Adorned with expensive otter, the individually styled blue fur coats were embellished along the shoulders and upper back with golden gallons, light and dark yellow borders, parallel zigzags and arcs; tied with a long, wide, multicoloured woven sash with a tick fringe at the ends, these fur coats slightly gathered at the waist, did not hide a fine figure; they were so different from every other such apparel, that it would be appropriate to acknowledge them as a century-old garment untouched by the waves of fashion. Ingeniously embroidered long linen kerchiefs embellished with delicate crocheting hung down just bellow the elbows, yet still revealed the garment’s decorative borders, and made one forget that he was viewing a simple village girl. The most tasteful of all her ornaments, and without doubt taking much time and even additional kelp to arrange, was her hairdo. The elegant effect was achieved neither with curls, nor with elaborate chignons and pompadours, but with shining hair simply parted in the middle and crowned by two delicate braids, adding a particular fascination to the woman, besides the fact that no wind, storm, or whirl-wind dance could even lay a hair amiss”.

If a Lithuanian apologizes too politely - means the apology is fake. Mine evidently wasn't. You can now go in peace!

Aha okay, I get it. It seems I was just an idiot. Well I'm so so sorry for being a oof & maybe you forgive me maybe. :)
Here's a video about folk clothing from Lithuania Minor:

It should be pointed out that their traditions didn't disappear with the dissolution of East Prussia - Lithuanians from folk ensembles in Klaipeda's region still wear the local type of clothing rather than just some generic "Lithuanian-like" outfits, sing regional songs. What I mean to say is that there's no movement towards some unified Lithuanian folklore concept.
For comparison, nearby Sudovians:

The question is HOW?? Probably not via East Prussia because neither Lietuvininkai, nor Sudovians have anything like this. Latvia? Evi said they don't have it either - at least not the striped fabrics with so much red and yellow. Independent development then?
BTW my Samogitian grandpa's Scando % has plummeted now that Belarusians were added as an Eastern European reference at 23andme - so, I was right all along: he doesn't have any Scandinavian ancestry, the projects of genome bloggers showed that already ages ago.
On a different note, some from 20th century Aukštaitija (North-East Lithuania):
