I plan to get a B.S in Mathematics/Physics and a PhD in Particle Physics or Cosmology/Astronomy, so I'm unsure how much more educated one can be than that. Regardless, the more education she has the better. I find I have less in common with uneducated people, and usually there is a language barrier I have trouble overcoming. However, as long as a minimum level of intelligence and knowledge is met, and she is continually active in gaining more, I am not picky.

Society is quite different today. I'd find it much more useful to have a girlfriend/wife who works than one who stays home entirely. In the end, I don't plan to force her to work, and if I really don't like it I can always find somebody else.

If she is my wife, I'd like to know where she is out of concern, but I won't control her life at that degree. If she is a girlfriend, I don't require to know that much, unless she is very close I suppose. That is too distracting, I have enough to handle with my own actions. I don't need the responsibility of controlling another person. Of course, this is aside from my ethical concerns, for which I believe such an imposition is not in my nature nor indicative of a relationship that is much more than a physical connection and convenience. By this I mean, there is emotional fulfillment in addition to practical.

I expect to take care of myself, when alone. If I can do that when I am alone, I can certainly do that when I am in a relationship. I can be very particular of organization for example, although not necessarily orderly in the usual sense. Basically, I don't expect her to do all the chores and certainly wouldn't want it to be the case considering how conflicting it would be with my routines.

This is quite obvious. Everybody needs friends. How many and of what type of connection? Well, that seems to depend on the person. I'm fine with having acquaintances to mitigate boredom. Other people want empathetic human mirrors of their emotions.

Well, I don't think I could buy clothes for anybody other than myself. I don't mind if somebody buys something for me though, and I'll probably wear it. Although, the primary decision-maker for my clothes will be me.

I can't deal with people who are attached though. I need my freedom and alone time. This is a primary rule for my family, friends, and I'd hope girlfriend/wife. Socialization is not easy for me and it can be very tiring.

I'd like to know when she isn't happy so I can compromise or reform my actions. If it was somebody I liked or loved I'm sure her happiness would be a primary goal, and therefore unhappiness the opposite.

As for health reasons......mate i was invalided out of the army after breaking my back,my legs,my arms,my ribs,teeth and all sorts of other minor and major breaks in a parachuting accident.
I looked like a fucking biafran after having spent months in the hospital.

I moved down to Brighton into a mates flat and got a job hod carrying on the marina they were building....i could hardly walk let alone carry a hod full of bricks up a ladder.
After one summer working like a nigge...erm White man (seeing as how i have never seen a nigger work) i was fit as a fiddle.....and they told me i would never walk again.

im sorry what happened to you first of all and second you were very lucky then, i doubt everyone is so lucky or even majority of people who had such incidents happened, usually hard work breaks you not "makes you fit", thats why people who worked 20-40 years hard labour have broken legs, bones and pain, and are not afterwards "fit like sneakers". but for you it worked out, im happy that it was like that.

yet i dont fear hard labour, but hard labour is not the "healthiest" thing to do, or just "right" to loose weight. thats a misinformation or misunderstanding. yet sitting at home makes you ill too, you will say but thats why i need to find the right balance. and i think im on right path, because i will get a job in soon future, where i work in a mini-store, physically work, cleaning, sorting out, etc.

IM, Duke was totally right in his post about swimming. It's the best option you can get and it won't hurt your joints. Losing weight should be fun, without yo-yo effects. Just listen to your body and don't jump on the scale every day...relax. I crossed my fingers for you :)
