How long does DNA last in saliva?

For how long can you store saliva in a plastic bag/cup or similar container before the sample is ruined?

Im curious because I ordered a 23andme kit but had it shipped to my sister in the the U.S (-long story shot, im cheap and dont want to pay shipping costs-). My mom is visiting her in a few weeks and she is doing me the favor of delivering my precious saliva to my sis, but i want to know if this is going to be succesful. If not, what do you recommend?

It's not a good idea.
Saliva can last but there is always a high chance of degeneration/contamination of genetic material stored in such condition.

Let your mum take the kit from your sister, use the kit and deliver it to your sister back when you will be able to (by mom or...I don't know by who).
It will take time but you will not pay extra 100-150 bucks.
