A Black Hole Devouring a Star Is One Hell of an Amazing View

http://img.gawkerassets.com/img/17lf311vpgl24jpg/original.jpg

Look at this star turned into a fire dragon by a single point of nothingness with the mass of three million suns—its body twisted and deformed as a black beast 2.7 billion light-years away devours it with infinite hunger.

The synthetic image has been published in Nature along with photos directly taken by NASA's Galaxy Evolution Explorer and the Pan-STARRS1 telescope in Mount Haleakala in Hawaii.

The comments in the discussion threads were pretty funny. Here's one:

Of course it's a stupid question. The universe is only 6,000 years old so clearly this didn't happen 2.7b years ago. God simulated the whole event in his head and then created the light from that event 2.7b light years away from where it would have taken place if the universe actually existed. ;)
