Yes it means "white man" in english. It seems more common in Petrinja, which is in northern part of Croatia. I've found that some Serbs from Krajina have it too, an area which borders Petrinja.
Also I've found data about this surname from the place Pribinic in western part of Serb Republic.

Still though, his surname isn't so common and appears to be more common among Croats.:D
