No, they look too Western.

They all look different from one another. Hard to say. They could fit in many places. I'd guess north-central Italian maybe?

It hard to say because your photo isn't distinct.

Some would pass - in Brittany, Flanders and Northern Iberia (areas I have lived in and know well). I'm not counting the U.S. since, ethnically, it's a mixed bag.

90% not at all

I suspect the vast majority of them are not southern Italian, or at least not Sicilian or Calabrese. Their faces do not look familiar to me.

Many of them look definitely Italian, but they would fit without any problem almost anywhere in France.

I have often noticed that for some reason, people involved in classical music are fairer than average in Southern Europe, and somewhat darker in the North.

This historical European music is played and sung by quintessential archetypical Europeans, which sounds logical after all. (Except in Paris where classical orchestras are flooded with Japanese, Chinese and Korean instrumentists.)

(BTW I play the guitar in a punk/ska combo but I also sing in a local choir that focuses on late mediaeval and early Renaissance music — Roland de Lassus and all that sort of things, if you know you know.

I couldn't find a similar high def photograph with that much people, but I for Southern France here a few pics showing musicians and choirs from Toulouse:

A Baroque ensemble:

A string quartet:

A children choir (Maîtrise de Toulouse, including the mandatory Asians...):

Sorry but, these are true Italians, indeed we Italians guessed them at first sight. No the dudes that you see in Hollywood movies.
And southerns are also mostly light skinned brown haired people. It's not true that they are all black haired olive skinned.

I would respect Italians even if they were green, color has nothign to do with a nations history and accomplicements. Italian history is old and strong and their color played no role to it.

That's for sure, yet we Italians hate to be depicted in a way that we aren't. This said, we are ofc very proud of our history.

They look like what most Italians from the peninsula look like, except possibly far southerners.

I think a huge number would fit in my own country, in my own town. I see 2 or 3 women in this group that would be seen as outlairs. I'm not saying that there aren't Portuguese that look like them but they are out of average.

That's curious you've noticed that. I can't see that trend but maybe you're right. I leave you ramdom Google images under the keyword Coro in several regions, from north to south: (sorry about the quality)

I don't know what to say, from the above photos, if they are representative, I can see some differences, but my country is quite homogeneous, maybe you were thinking aboute longer distances.
