So I am making plans to visit Romania in the summer!

Can anyone provide me with some info with the prices over there? How much is eating out or how things cost in the stores.

Also, how much is the transportation in Bucharest and what kind of tickets are available? (on time use, daily ticket, 5 days etc)

Of course it is welcome if you can recommend any places. So far I will be in Bucharest and Sibiu and perhaps have a stop at Brasov/Bran.

Well you want to visit Bucharest?
I can provide info about transportation, food prices at restaurants are very different depending on the zone in which the restaurant is and how the restaurant is more higher category or lower category. Is better to eat at McDonalds or other fast foods since the prices there are low,at restaurants are not that low.

At the moment, metro is 3 ron a ticket for 2 rides (1 euro=4.4 ron) or 10 ron a ticket for 10 rides or monthly ticket with 62 rides for 30 ron.
The tram, autobus, trolleybus are 1.3 ron per ride,is better that you buy a magnetic card on which you put some money and use instead of paper tickets.
You get that card with your ID card since you are an EU citisen and you put there money for using instead of tickets.
Taxi now is quite cheap about 1.4 ron per kilometer but you need to be aware to take only official taxis, you see those because they are yellow and have written on their front door the price which should 1.39 ron /km or 1.49 ron/km.

No idea about what things in stores you asked so I can answer to you.

For visiting in Bucharest,is not so much to visit, you can go visit http://www.muzeul-satului.ro/ (sorry the guys there did not made english page) also the historical centre (which looks terrible bad from my point of view) the parks the botanical garden maybe some museums also and some old churches which are quite beautiful.
Youy can visit National Museum of History,no idea if the gothic treasure is still there or not:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pietroasele_Treasure
Also you can visit the museum at Cotroceni Palace, where the presidents of Romania have official residence:
http://www.muzeulcotroceni.ro/engleza/index_eng.html
If you come in Bucharest,go also to see People's House which is largest construction as surface from the world:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palace_of_the_Parliament
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/9f/Casa_Poporului.jpg
You will find nice things to visit in Sibiu,go also to Sighisoara.
Also go visit Peles Castle at Sinaia.

Depending on how much you stay and if you like mountains or not you can go visit some mountains in Romania, there are plenty of them.

If you like mountains, well there is plenty to visit.

Can anyone provide me with some info with the prices over there?

I almost never eat out, but if I remember correctly the menu of the day is about 10-15 RON (roughly 2,5-3,5€), but if you're interested in the price of a particular dish, I could find it out for you.

How much is eating out or how things cost in the stores.

Be more specific, please.

I would recommend visiting Maramureș (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maramure%C8%99_County), but I'm afraid the state of our roads might traumatise you... As for Sibiu, I'm sure you've already read about the Brukenthal and ASTRA museums.:thumb001:

You must be joking! I pay 3,5 RON on a two-ride ticket here in Cluj.

Thanks a lot guys.

I am planning to go to Bucharest, Brasov and Sibiu and then head off to Bulgaria.
I am trying to plan out the trip and see how much money I will be spending on transportation and food over there.

Do you also know some good bars in Bucharest?

Well, I would rather not go to any clubs or places with pop/techno or something else like this. Basically I dont want to go to places where people do a whole lot of dancing.
Or maybe you have a favourite?
