Montenegro's song was bad.

Why not serious? Each country (my own believe) should send a song that represent their culture and style of music.

This is plain weird that song that represents Romania is latino music.
Besides she is most undress from all singers.
Could be a good song to represent Brasil not Romania.
On the other hand the song that represent Republic of Moldavia is more european.

What I noticed is that lots of melodies the voice is not fitting the instrumentation.
And some competitors do not have any kind of voice.
Ireland song is worst it barely can be called "song" because I miss the melody there or the voice of the singers.
Same happens with the singer which represents France which does not have any kind of voice, lol.

I really liked the voice of the singer of Italy it reminds me of the voice of Amy Winehouse.Nina Zilli is actually singing and has a voice compared to a big part of other singers which are not really doing that.

Comte Arnau

Spain should definitely withdraw from the contest, specially now. It's one of the Big 5 because it contributes with more than €400M to the EBU, and more than €130M directly for the Eurovision contest. Maybe a win could pay off a bit of it, but it's not going to happen because Eastern and Nordic countries vote for each other (Spain has neither neighbours nor big diasporas, and never sings in English), and even so it's not really worth the pay. I don't know why Spain doesn't do the same Italy did and have a rest for some years.

Calling this a contest does not seem correct.
Also the lack of quality of the Music is appalling.

They don't buy their way to the final. It's just that, without the economic contribution of the big 5, the contest wouldn't even be done. I'd say that having their participation at the final guaranteed is kind of logical.

Our local Jews are survivors from Spanish inquisition of 1492. They are living here peacefully for more than 500 years and we didn't have any problem with them even after Israel killed 9 men in the flotilla. In fact, they were the sole minority group of Turkey who supported us during our national resistance against the allies in the last years of Ottoman empire while all others were trying to grab lands as much as possible during the conflicts, including the filthy Arabs.

I support Montenegro. A complete troll job on their part. Even the singer's name Rambo Amadeus is troll like. Here are the lyrics:

Eurosceptic, analphabetic
Try not to be hermetic

Euro Neuro don’t be sceptic
Hermetic, pathetic, analphabetic
Forget all cosmetic, you need new poetic
Esthetic, ecletic, dialectic

Euro neuro, don’t be dogmatic bureaucratic
You need to become pragmatic
To stop change climatic automatic
Need contribution from the institution
To find solution for pollution
To save the children of the evolution

Euro Neuro, Euro Neuro
Monetary break dance
Euro Neuro, Euro Neuro
Give me chance to refinance

(Blaue grotte ausflug do Zanjica, heute habe hobotnica)

Euro Neuro I don’t like snobism
Nationalism, puritanism
I am different organism
My heroism is pacifism, altruism
I enjoy bicyclism
Liberalism, tourism, nudism, optimism
It is good for rheumatism

Euro Neuro, Euro Neuro
Monetary break dance
Euro Neuro, Euro Neuro
Give me chance to refinance

Euro neuro, I got no ambition
For high position in competition
With air condition
Different mission, different school
I got only one rule
Always stay cool
Like a swimming pool

Euro Neuro, Euro Neuro
Monetary break dance
Euro Neuro, Euro Neuro
Give me chance to refinance

LOL

The competition is a complete joke and the songs are painful to listen to (well the ones in English are.) I still remember that gay Greek song that won a few years ago Your my lover undercover.......one of the most painful songs to listen to.

Gonna be serious now. Sorry Cyprus.

Since I only support those countries which still have the courage not to sing in commercial English, this reduces my voting to:

Albania 10 - Macedonia 8 - Bosnia 6 - Serbia 4 - Estonia 2

Russian grannies are the cutest, but this is a song contest.

The reason I don't include Spain is only because I wouldn't like Spain to organize the event next year, not because I don't like her. Actually I find her to be one of the most decent Spanish entries in many years. In compensation I include here an around-the-world cover of her song.

It has more to do with Music industries. For one, Western Countries don't really take the competition seriously. Greece and Cyprus share the same taste in music and pretty much the same music industry. It's like having two Greek entries so it's not surprising that they vote for each other. It's the same thing with the other blocks.

Surprise, surprise, neighboring countries with similar cultures have similar tastes in music. Who knew?

But yeah, politics plays a part in it too.

Well according to this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albania_in_the_Eurovision_Song_Contest), Albania has given the most points to Greece, Turkey, Macedonia and received the most from Macedonia, Greece and Switzerland (lots of Albanian diaspora there.)

- Swedish song was good, but not that good to win with so much difference, and having a Maroccan singer to represent them.
- Babushkas deserved to win:embarrassed
- Ajerbaijan, Turkey, Moldova, Ukraine, Albania, Fyrom, Lithouania, and Ireland were bad enough to place where they placed.
- Italian and Spanish songs were underrated

I agree with the first point.

I don't think the babushkas deserved to win. This is a song contest, after all.

The Albanian singer performed a song that requires some skills, even if it looks like scary yelling to the lay. I actually think she deserved a better place.

I agree with the Italian and Spanish songs being underrated. But they ranked very well, considering the countries have no neighbours.

Its not a talent show , where what (should) count(s) is how great voice someone has. Its about having a good song to show, and a good overall perfmormance.

Not for the Netherlands. But that's our own fault. We never take the ESC serious. Whenever we send in a song, the only thing we do is complain about how stupid the song is, how we are gonna lose because of the song and then, when we actually lose, we complain about how stupid the contest and voting actually is while the whole country was complaining about the song months before the contest. And although politics definitely play a big role in the ESC, countries like Germany, Sweden, Norway have proven that if you send in a good song, you can win. Despite politics.

The difference is that Western countries have to make an outstanding song+performance, while any more or less acceptable Russian/Serbian/Swedish... performances have many more possibilities of winning.

Greece's singer is Cypriot and Cyprus' singer is Greek.

Greece's singer was Cypriot last year as well. Till like 10 years ago all Greek and Cypriot song were in Greek. So, what do you expect from the voting?

Correction: Cyprus' singer is half Cypriot and half Bulgarian (yet Bulgaria gave Cyprus 0 points)

The Greece-Cyprus exchange of 12 points is unavoidable. We share the same music industry. For two years in a row, Greece sent a Cypriot to represent them. And the singers who compete for Cyprus are most of the times popular in Greece. In fact, we only know where our 12 points will go. from 1 to 10 points, we always give it to different countries every year. Unlike the ex-Yugos or the ex-Soviets, who vote for ther 5-6 neighbors, and only few points remain for the rest.
