You can say that about any meat that isn't cooked well. What are these disease risks associated with pork? Seafood has mercury and other toxins, and there was the madcow scare with beef, and salmonella can be found in all meat, especially chicken.

There's no scientific reason to avoid pork. It's entirely religious driven, even to the point of paranoia, like the mass slaughter of pigs in Egypt.

That oil debate is really worthy of a talk IMHO. I just don't think it's fair to say ppl are wrong for eating pork. Some will eat anything. I think it's wrong for ppl to eat dogs and cats. Romania got some problems with wild boars messing the crops of the people,but not that many.
Maybe wild boars from Romania could be trained to kill and eat street dogs and this way they could help Romania to get rid of the problem of street/semi wild dogs.
