I rather not say, it's very unique and uncommon. It's popular in Austria, Bosnia and Croatia. I've only met one other person in the world with such a name, and heard of only 5 others with my name in the world.

There's no valid information about the origins of my name, all I know is that it's Germanic and came to Bosnia via Austria-Hungary.

Also, there are plenty of Germanic names that are popular among Slavs such as Igor and Olga.

I do not believe Yaroslav is of slavic origins, but of viking origins, since 5th descendant of Rurik was called Yaroslav:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yaroslav_I_the_Wise
You can see he had scandinavian wives.

My name is from hebrew since it is Mihail (Michael in english) and is very common at romanians because they are christian orthodox and Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel are very respected in Romania and other christian orthodox countries.

Yup :) People automatically shorten it to sea :) With "life/heart", it sounds too childish

The "sea" part of my name comes from a leftist hero/martyr you can guess :)

Mine is Turkish and also used in daily speech too ..

Our names are quiet interesting apart from usual animal ,flower names ,these are also given as names

Kiraz (cherry ),Pembe (pink) ,Kanat (wing) ,Çimen (grass ) Yonca (clover) , Toprak(earth) ,Yaprak (leaf ) ,Bulut(cloud) ,Yağmur (rain) ,, metal names like Tunç (bronze ) Demir (iron),..also Elif (first letter of old alphabeth-tall and slender girl) Selvi (same reason) ,Burçin (female deer and unisex name ) Suna (male duck -female name )many more like these became names (thanks to animistic side of our culture I guess)
