Generally speaking I have this feeling that we like carpets a lot, I know many relatives of mine living in Turkey and they spend a lot of money for refurbishing their houses and buying 1 rug or carpet after another each room of the flat/house has got its own rugs or a large carpet or 1 carpet with 2 rugs etc.

I would like to post the rugs and carpets I found through Turkish websites and like a lot. If you got also some rug or carpet fetish, post also carpet pictures you like a lot :naughty:

I think this one looks fantastic although it's got just 1 tone of colour but the design stands out:

Nothing special but I like it, that would fit in the hall:

I like this one as well:

OMG I love the flowers a lot:

I like this one as well, it could fit in my mom's hall:

This one is also nice, but I wouldnt want to have it in my house, it looks a bit too modern, not that classic:

OMG I am loving this one a lot!

I love this one as well, maybe for the guests room it could be suitable:

This is a like a French Aubusson knock-off:

Like this:

A lot of these are made by Uighurs in China now.

For me a blue 'rose pattern' Persian (city?) rug would be like a lifetime of orgasms; a viewgasm, if you like. ;)

Something like this in pale blue with a more open design:

I'm British, we are as wild about rugs as the Dutch!

We can make good carpets here, but they are very expensive because of labour costs, and so China appeals greatly with the expertise of the Uighur weavers.

Axminster is the name to look for in British carpets, if you want that sort of class, but it's all mechanised...

But, yeah, Aubusson style carpets. Amazing European style! They are flat like a tapestry or a very fancy kilim. Mind-blowing and so fluid.

^ A Chinese 'Aubusson'; typical muted subtle colours. Very understated, they are gorgeous!

Ofc Uygurs does high quality handmade carpets just as any other Turkic peoples but unfortunately commie Chinese regime forces them to work 24/7 in there for only a handful of rice in return and i cant even imagine for how much money they sell these carpets to the Europe. I suppose 1000s of Euros, likely 10.000s.

Not much, for the quality of the work, and the beautiful fakery of it.

Designs are good but these are modern machine woven rugs tough. These can be no match to the quality of hand made rugs. Hand made ones usually gets sold 10 times more price than these machine woven ones in same size.

Love those rugs.

I used to have a small Turkish rug. It was very pretty, was a gift to me from my ex's mom...I think it is at my mother's house. I should find and use it.

Looked kind of like this:
