Classify this Polish football player.

He doesn't look like a typical Polish guy to me.

Dinaro-Cro-Magnon, and looks like one of those Polish types found around the Carpathian mountain region.

Dinarid\balto Cm mix. Reminds me bit on Geronimo.

Yes, of a similar mix, and Geronimo came from Romania, so definitely within the range of the Carpathian region.

I would say Dinaro-Cro-Magnon as well. To me he can pass in the Balkans. His name is actually very Macedonian. You just have to replace the 'W' with a 'V' and you will get the name 'Vasilevski' which is a prety common Macedonian surname. I am thinking that he might have a Macedonian background.

But his first name is exclusivly Polish and sometimes there is big
similarity of Polish and Macedonian names.

All I am saying is that he could have Macedonian ancestry because of his name and because he kind of looks like one. His surname is Wasilewski, in Macedonian it is Vasilesvki which is a common surname. so, is the name Vasil or Wasil used in Poland at all for it to be in his surname?

Could be the case. I don`t know. I am not Polish so I cannot answer you the question.

Can't answer the part of about surname, but I've heard the family name Wasilewski before.
One of the cast members of the reality tv show 'Real World' (season 23) was a polish american named Erika Lauren Wasilewska.

Also, a famous communist leader of wartime Poland, was Wanda Wasilewska... so the family name is pretty common in Poland as far as I know. I can't speak to its origins, though I assume it must be a pretty pan-slavic name.

Maybe, but the most likely explanation is that he is of carpathian ancestry. Sometimes, people think I have jewish ancestry because of dinaroid influences and my eyeshape.
It is a mistake to assume that. The 'stereotypical' jewish nose is of an armenoid shape.

Well, W(V)asilewski is not exclusively Macedonian surname. There are 13,322 males (http://www.moikrewni.pl/mapa/kompletny/wasilewski.html) and 14,421 females (http://www.moikrewni.pl/mapa/kompletny/wasilewska.html) bearing this surname in Poland. I doubt they all have Macedonian ancestry. I think that the surname derives from the name ‘Vasyl’, which is very popular among Eastern Slavs.

Thanks for clearing that up. I didn't think 'Vasil' was used commonly up north as much as it is in the Balkans. I think the name Vasil or Wasil comes from the ancient Hellenic word 'Basil' which means royal or kingly. Vasil and Wasil are just variants of Basil.

dzień dobry.

I have already mentioned that he can fit in Macedonia. He could fit in all Balkan countries except for Albania and Greece in my opinion.

And I think he is from Krakow.

Dinaro+Balto-Cromagnoid, he has Carpathian look, not necessary Southern Pole. I made a classification thread for him, go look it up.

Not many... Typical swarthy Poles usually look like her:

They generally look very polish, despite their darker pigmentation.

Yes, I heard the version that this surname derived from the word "basileios" meaning "royal", but we also have another explanation. The surname of WASILEWSKI is a Polish nickname for a man with a particularly fine or noticeable moustache. In Polish moustache means WAS (WĄS) + IK. Other spellings of the name include WONS, VONS, WASIKIEWICZ, WASOWICZ, VASILIEV, USATCHOV, USATYCH (‘US’ means mustache in Russian) and WASIKOWSKI. WASILEWSKI is a Polish noble family with their own Coats of Arms (http://www.genealogia.okiem.pl/wasilewski.htm).
I imagine that royal "basileios" had a big moustache in the past ;)

Besides, we also have toponims like a town Wasilew Szlachecki in Masovian Voivodeship some 66 mi (106 km) East of Warsaw.

Dzień dobry or dobry wieczór :)
