In Europe do you drink milk out of boxes!? I heard that they sell boxes instead of cartons.

While being in Canada... I saw Canadians had glasses for milk... Same as any decent people.
Now...we all know milk comes OUT of cows...goats or sheep...for that matter....
Discussing the way the milk is packed for distribution??? Oh... come on...I'm sure there is more serious threads to tend to...

We used to get bags of milk when I was a kid. They have four litre bags, which is good for a family with kids who drinks a lot of milk.

Depends on how much milk is consumed in your house.

There used to be milk packed in bags here. And in glass bottles too:

Due to some stupid regulations they changed the glass for this:

I think it tasted better when stored in glass bottles. But it would last less time before souring, so they had to change the packing material due to recent regulations...

I buy it; Saint Benoit sales jersey milk but I prefer there handcrafted yogurts. Its costs more compared to the raw milk by Cloverdale Farm but thats because its a staple in the Bay Area Locavore scene.

Single-source, family farm, pastured, free ranged, organic, non-homogenized, vat pasturized dairy is kind of going to be like that here.

I only see the 8 litre packs in bags. A 4 pack of 2 litre bags.

I don't drink that much milk, I get cartons.

Oh? But one should bother... packaging is important to a certain extent. Glass is one of the most biocompatible materials for storing choices.

During my Masters in Biomaterials, I've ran tests on milk specifically stored in various containers.... it's really appaling to see what you can find in the products marketed. And yes...one eats/drinks them. Of course the producers have regulations and they are approved and tested(bla-bla). Therefore...it's illegal to post what I've obtained from my personal search, but I did it for my own knowledge kitchenwise. I know exactly how to cook and store food, and what food/containers to choose.
Glass and ceramic are the best choices though.

Everything tastes better in glass.

Ditto! And it keeps food contained unaltered with foreign ions/chemical structures that aren't beneficial for our bodies/nervous system(specifically).

You are a winner!
That's how I'm choosing my milk, and I've always had it like so, thanks to my mother/grandmother... and acquaintances with family farms.
Romania also "benefits" from all sorts of local/imported/ bagged/cartoned/whatever milk too...who cares? :)

Fresh organic grass fed milk is best, vat pasteurisation still destroys a large content if not all of the vitamin A, B12 and C content of the milk, though it does destroy all of the beneficial bacteria, and the enzyme activator X. At least vat pasteurisation doesn't denature the lipid content of the milk 100% like homogenised milk.

The price 1st world city and suburb dwellers pay for industrialisation, mass production of milk and its products.

In some rural areas, milk is sold right after its milked as openly, you can get as much as you want.
