It seems like our brave defenders of Europe against teh islamic invaders actually are culturally closer to Muslims than other Christians.

Your face is closer to a Turk than a European. You want me to post your pic?

This is a joke right?

Serb Nationalists would love for this to be true, but alas examples of state that is genetically, culturally and linguistically closer to a population 2,000KM rather than to it's immediate neighbours are extremely scarce.

Bosniaks. They just don't like to admit it because of animosity between the two. Familiarity breeds contempt, as they say. This is why Serbs are more positive toward the more distant Russians who happen to share their religion.

There is a huge difference between northern and southern Serbs.

Russians are still very different from Balkan Slavs, I think. I'm no expert, but it would surprise me otherwise.

I think religion is quite important in a value system so I would say Russia

Ofcourse Bosniaks, the only thing they share with Russians are some Pan Slavic ancestors & the language group. Russians have more to do with Poles, Ukrainians and ofcourse Scandinavians.

But I do have some quite 'Russian' tendencies when I'm with my man Guapo... :P (Just joking!)

Whats up friend. Actually if you look at genetic charts you wont find the 'pan-Slavic thing bearing out, except poles and russians

I have no idea. its just that the closeness of the other Slavic groups don't match their geography

I really don't know, in many ways they aren't close to either. I don't think Russians are the Slavs that the Serbs are closest to, I would sooner say Bulgarians for instance.

I don`t know either... there are differences for sure, also similarities... but if you prioritize religion and
history, then russians rather than us, most likely.

Bosnians.

Russians are more similar to Croats, Russians are similar to me. Most of you people here think only about outside stuffs and stereotypes about countries, for Russia this is babuskha, slavic language, lace and army. But who know that people from Moscow like to talk about poliitics, this is their every day costums inside the familiy -the same is in my family, most of the things about I was talking with my father this is politics in our living room. It is big caracteristic of my family and Croats.

They are not close to Bosniaks culturally, Islam is a big part of Bosniak culture, especially in rural places.

They pretend to love Russians more (my impression) but I think they are closer to Bosniaks ethnically and culturally. Also they speak actually the same language.
