Haha I was thinkin the same thing.. I've never met a Bulgarian who wanted to unite with Albanians of all people before (they seem pretty popular on this site somehow lol). Most I met were proud of their unique identity as a mixture of many types, and yes Slavs still do make up a decent portion of them, something people seem to forget here for some reason lol. Culturally yes they have significant differences from northern Slavs as well. Would they even get along with others?

Still I think such a union and all these kind of ideas are retarded, unfeasible, and just wishful thinking for people who have nothing better to do than ponder these unrealistic romanticist notions. As if there's not enough issues and problems between these countries already.

Considering that Slavs as a people are the largest ethnicity in Europe, if they were to unite, it would provide a great counterbalance to the EU until it finally (Hopefully) disintegrates.

People from Belarus can live and work in Russia easily, as if they were Russian citizens and vice-versa.
But yes western part of Belarus is closer to Poland while the eastern to Russia). RU-BL could theoretically do a full union MUCH MUCH easier than other slavs states

There is no European unity. Mentalities between European nations are already far too big between each other. Europe has 50+ countries, there are much greater divides between them than say between East Asia which has only 3 ethnicities. Heck, you have three different linguistic branches which further split into multiple other languages. A Russian east of Moscow will probably find a Kazakh slightly more familiar due to historical interaction than a Brit. Likewise, a Greek will probably have a closer mentality to a Turk than a German. So it's all relative. There's already the massive East-West divide within the continent that is the aftermath of a brutal Cold War period.

There's no Slavic Civilization. Slavs are widespread and divided between 3 civilisations: Occident, Orient and the Russian World. Therefore Slavic unity neither would make sense neither would be a desirable thing.
