He's of 3/4 Italian ancestry and 1/4 Irish ancestry.
His family is from mostly New Jersey which would mean his Italian ancestors were most likely southern Italians.
I think he's mentioned his maternal grandparents were Sicilian also.

you seem to be under the impression that italian are this magical ethnicity that is naturally predisposed to having larger than average eyes, which they are not.

A lot of italians delude themselves into believing they have huge eyes for some reason (sometimes set on a smallish/rounder face which can give the impression of larger eyes).

It can get somewhat irritating to hear as often as I have.

Well not large but almond eyes. Joe Rogan has slitty eyes, which do not strike me as Italian but rather Northern European, since they have smaller eyes.

At all angles he doesn't look Very Irish, but in others, particularly shaven-headed, he looks southern Irish and Atlanto-Med. Kind of reminds me of Irish DJ John O'Callaghan.
